Eurocell is an improvised version of Leclanche's cell. These cells have a moist electrolyte to avoid leakage and enhance performance.

A zinc container serves as anode, which is surrounded by a thin layer of electrolyte paste of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride mixed with starch.

Manganese dioxide and acetylene black blended with electrolyte serves as cathode. A carbon rod inserted at the center serves as current collector for the +ve terminal. The voltage obtained from this zinc carbon battery is 1.5V.
